 We’ve all been there.
We join a site that seems to have an amazing plot that could result in endless possibilities. It seems like it will be a grand adventure, so we join in, excited to see where it takes us. But weeks later everything still seems at a standstill, and we’re floating around in this limbo waiting for something to happen. Sometimes, something does. Other times, the site just dies before anything can happen. And perhaps even if something does move forward, you feel so disconnected from the main plot – almost as if you’re some sort of outsider looking in, just hoping to somehow get involved in the action.
This “site”, despite the set up and layout, isn’t really a “site.” It’s a private game led by Chalkie and Larry, with open slots needed to be filled by eager and experienced writers. It is run like a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, with us admins as your Dungeon Masters. We treat this plot as an interactive story that is always moving forward, and is all inclusive to the members that join in. The members must place faith in the “storytellers” (admins) to guide them along as event after event is thrown at them to either make their lives wonderful or absolutely awful. The point is to come into this as blindly as you would a new book you are about to read, and learn more as time goes on. As you grow and develop into the plot, so do your characters, as well as the bonds they form with others. There will always be surprises, as well as twists and turns along the way, so have faith and always be ready to roll with the punches.
As a note, this campaign is inspired by the show Pretty Little Liars, but morphed and deviated into our own sort of story. And while this campaign has taken a couple elements from the show, the rest is of our creation and we hope that you enjoy it.  Not much is known about this small town in Massachusetts. Ashwick seems like your middle of the road town, where nothing of merit happens. Well, that was until two weeks ago, on July 22nd, 2013. A beloved and well respected boy, Benjamin Turner, was found murdered on the outskirts of Ashwick, his killer having abandoned his body by the roadside. The discovery shook Ashwick to its foundation, leaving many distraught, fearful, and confused as to who could have done this, or why anyone would have wanted a boy like Benjamin dead. As his funeral approaches, it seems a new wind is blowing in the air, and everyone that Benjamin had ever known would be about to face a new truth that they might not yet be ready for…
