welcome to idyllic patton, montana. population: 1,654. in 1925, patton was chosen as the home for one of the united states most prestigious boarding schools: rankin academy, named for jeanette pickering rankin, the first woman to be elected to the united states congress. rankin academy began as a girls only preparatory school and quickly developed a reputation for producing the best and the brightest of young women. as the school became more popular it began to attract students from all over the world and all walks of life. scholarship students became a familiar staple at the school, weekday warriors (the children of local rich parents who went home on the weekends) started flooding in, and entire families would send generation after generation of children to the school creating legacies that would last for the rest of their lives.
in august of 1967, rankin academy became integrated and co-ed. now any student who wanted a chance to study at rankin could do so, as long as they could win a scholarship or pay their way through. as more and more students flooded the halls of the academy and filled the dorms with their chatter, rumors began to circulate about something more going on beneath the academic flurry. secret societies, so prevalent at prestigious universities began cropping up at rankin. current estimates say that there are three operating in secret. no one knows which students are involved, all they know is that occasionally a prank will be played or one of the societies' symbols will appear on a prominent building's facade. membership is exclusive, by invitation only, and loyalty is expected to be fierce.
rankin academy can be your ticket to the big time if you play your cards right. and who knows, maybe one day you'll check your campus mail box and receive an invitation on strange letterhead saying that you've been hand picked to join one of the prestigious secret societies..
