Silas isn't really an adult that runs in her sphere of interest, but I imagine he'd admire her hard-working nature and have heard a lot about her from other teachers.

Atticus and Alex // Alex is the kind of girl I could picture Atticus putting up on a bit of a pedestal and pining after. He would never speak to her- he likely hasn’t that kind of courage- as well as out of respect for Ben(since he is quite traditional), but her existence is certainly well known to him. He’s also very aware of his own social standing and that Alex wouldn’t give him the time of day.

Alex and Connor
Alex and Connor would be friends through both Ellie and Ben. His position as Ellie's best friend may have helped ease some of the tension between the two girls. Maybe they worked on an anti-bullying PSA for the school at some point. He likely would have been there for her in some capacity after Ben's death.

Alex & Mr. Lindstrom
Like you said, they don't really interact due to their different spheres of interest, but perhaps she has him or has had him as a teacher? She takes higher level courses, and maybe is taking psych/has taken psych.

Atticus & Alex
Awh, that's so cute! If Atticus did try to talk to her, she would definitely give him the time of day. She knows what is like to be lower on the end of the grade school hierarchy. However, since she is popular, the mean girls that surround her could possibly give off the impression that it's not okay to talk to them. She would also probably compliment him on his fashion sense!

Alex & Connor
Yup, everything you said works perfectly! Although, both Connor and Alex lived in Boston before they moved to Ashwick, and started their new school around the same time. Maybe they knew each other in Boston as well? Alex didn't have many friends and was bullied for her weight, but they still could have seen or known each other. Either way, I feel like they'd definitely be friends.

Alex and Connor
They totally could have been friends in Boston. Connor definitely would have stood up for Alex when he was around for the bullying. That's all kinds of perfect!

Okay, awesome! Friends from Boston end up being the top dogs in the Ashwick school system! =P
