Boys run like water from the barrel to the trough. They'll never stop their running. Gunning for their brothers. This house is a hostel. It is peaceful, but it's always emptying. Boys all want to be someone.
Haven't you heard? I am a flightless bird. I am a liar, feeding facts to a false fire. If pathos is borne, borne out of bullshit, in formal attire, I'll score you a string ensemble. samson david manyhorsesstudent | sweet sixteen | victim about him:Samson Manyhorses or 'Sam' is more of a loner, in the sense that he'd rather stay in his room and hide from the rest of the world, outside of school or maybe the arcade. In Japan, teens and young adults like Samson are called, Hikikomori (ひきこもり) which literally means, 'pulling inwards'. He is reclusive to the point of obsession and has weird interests and hobbies (he's a fan of the infamous, Suehiro Maruo's artwork and writes bizarre, boarding on ultraviolent fanfiction and literature involving some of his favorite characters and series).
Because of this, and his penchant for painting his own nails and wearing black, he's been described as 'creepy' or 'gothy' and does not have many friends. Lurking behind his eccentric tastes, is a shy, friendly person, who hates confrontation and refuses to use his body as a weapon unless provoked. He likes to read and write, and has a soft spot for children and animals. Due to a traumatic event earlier in his life, he's forgotten essential details of his life. Details that could place his parents on death row.
positive relations:Do I dare Disturb the universe? In a minute there is time For decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse.He's not...he's not very popular, for obvious reasons. And why would he? As socially inept as he is, he's lucky he's not bullied everyday. His stature makes up for that. And so, people fear him. His appearance, interests, all scream 'future school shooter' on the surface, but on the inside...on the inside, he's hurt. He's really hurt. He's aware of what people think of him, and his family. Outsiders.
Friends, positive influences, like teachers, would be rare, but possible. Especially if you attempt to treat him as if he were human, and not something to just stare at. negative relations:I'll never glow The way that you glow Your presence dominates The judgements made on youBecause of his unpopular status, weird interests, and massive size, he's also an easy target. When people react to something foreign, two things usually happen. Either fear or rage. Rage is felt when someone can find himself so uncomfortable, so off-putting and dangerous, that they must be compelled to antagonize him. Usually, people who fall under this category are ignored.
He has no time for you and wants nothing to do with you, but some people can be relentless. The sad part about this, is that they're not always teenagers at school. Sometimes, they're adults. Sometimes, they are people you are supposed to trust, like mommy and daddy. Still, Sam only keeps his rage to himself. Only until he's finally pushed to the edge is when he'll ever react, and trust me when I say, it's not pretty.
Like any polarizing individual, he might have plenty of these in the near future for simply existing. romantic relations:And if I told you that I loved you You'd maybe think there's something wrong I'm not a man of too many faces The mask I wear is oneLove is an uneasy subject to Samson. It's a word that's been easily thrown around for centuries, especially for teenagers, like him. And it's like he does not want to fall in love. He's had crushes on girls before, he knows what it's like, it's just...he's afraid of expressing it. He fears being hurt or hurting someone else.
What if he's cruel to her? Or, if she hates him? What if she gets pregnant (if they ever even get that far...)?

callie && sam
omg. you have no idea how much Callie just feeeeeels for him as I read this.
So of course Callie doesn't know the goings on of what causes a boy like him to be so reclusive... which means she's oblivious to his past. Regardless, though, she's never one to ignore someone who seems like they might be hurting, or if they're shy. Which is sort of why I want Callie to reach out to him and try to befriend him, give him someone that he can trust in again. She really likes making people smile and learning all the interesting facets about them, and Sam is no exception to the rule. So I'm hoping for a blossoming friendship that grows with depth as time goes on. She knows she'll always be there for him.

Eloise & Sam
I don't know that he and Eloise would be friends per say, but she would be kind to him. I also think that if she saw someone making fun of him or whatever, Eloise would put a stop to it. She isn't about that stuff.

atticus and samson //
I get the vibe that these two could have a lot in common. Atticus would probably see quite a bit of himself in the younger Sam in terms of social withdraw and sympathize greatly with him. Although generally he's not the kind of person to reach out, even socially, he might take it upon himself to interact with Sam since Atticus has developed at least some sense of social grace, no matter how forced it is. Of course, this is an interaction he would approach with much care and caution. Maybe they could share books or something, idk.

samson&&silas
Welp, unless Sam takes Mr. Lindstrom's class, they probably don't know each other. Even so, he'd easily understand Sam's quiet nature, since Silas was similar at that age, but be completely unable to fathom Sam's dark style and interests. He wouldn't be judgemental, but he may be uncomfortable about it if Sam brings it up.

sam & calliope - As with most people he's met, especially his own peers, he meet her with a slight view of discretion. In the end, he'll more than likely soften up and try to let his guard down. He'd be a wonderful friend, and would defend her just as much as she would with him.
sam & eloise - He would be grateful if he found someone else willing to stand up for him, but he'll know his place and not try to strike up a friendship so suddenly. He'd certainly be nice to her, but outside of school, I doubt there would be anything else.
sam & atticus - It looks like these two are both in the same boat; quiet, reserved, and cautious. I don't doubt that there won't be a friendship, if not, a very laid back one, but sharing books would be a start. He'll try to make sure the books he suggests won't be so scary, lol.
sam & mr. lindstrom - Don't worry about Sam's interests. He only shares if the asker is curious (hey, don't ask if you don't want the answer). Samson might want to try to sign up for the Drama Club, it seems like an interesting endeavor, and who knows, he might actually enjoy it.
Any thoughts? Additions? Subtractions? I'm excited!

Good. <3 He can take his time, she wouldn't force things. Callie's good about not digging too deep into other people's business if they've put up barriers, since she's a stickler about people respecting her boundaries. She'll always be insatiably curious about him, want to be there for him, and want to care for him like the little brother she never had.

So, Phoenix and Sam...
When Sam showed up in Ashwick with this super mysterious past, Phoenix would absolutely have dug in to what happened, and I'm sure he knows most of the story. His first instinct would have been to lord it over Sam's head, either threatening to tell him if Sam didn't do something, or promising he would tell him if he did what Phoenix wanted... But, Sam's not exactly a powerful player at AHS, so there's not much that Phoenix would really be able to get out of him. So, he then lets that deeper, walled-off part of him peak out. He absolutely feels for what Sam has been through, because his story isn't so different.
In summary: I think they'd have a tentative almost-friendship. But, the moment Phoenix thinks he can gain something from him, he won't be afraid to break that.

sam & phoenix - Sam would be, of course, careful around Phoenix. He's not the greatest influence in the world and he has enough problems, as is. They could be psuedo-friends, I noticed that Phoenix does work in the drug dealing business, so he might find Sam's size useful if he ever gets in trouble. He doesn't mind protecting people. Though, he might try to warn Phoenix about the drug life and how it can ruin your own, the main examples being his own parents, especially his dad. He's a boyscout, like that.
As far as being dropped as a friend once he finds something to drag into the mud about him?
Fuck you, Phoenix. Haha, this is wonderful.

atticus and samson //
The great part about a character like Atticus is that I gave him ample room to grow, so things about him may change as a result of the plot. For example, I do intend to eventually have him come out of his reserved shell a bit, which I think a friendship between him and Sam could be possible. Atticus can be dark- a different kind of dark, a less gore and more kafka, but he wouldn't look down on Sam for liking those kind of things. He's not particularly squeamish because he views most things from a scientific standpoint. IDK, I just get a vibe that they could get along.

Replied to my own plotter with this:
sam&isaiah
I agree. Isaiah knows that what's on the outside doesn't necessarily reflect what's on the inside, so he's all about trying to get to know people for who they are and not what they look like. He doesn't find silence uncomfortable either, so even if he's talking, he wouldn't try to make Sam say anything. He'd definitely want to make Sam feel as comfortable and included as he could without overloading him, so he would probably take the initiative to see if Sam wanted to hang out with him and Calliope.

Given your guy's size and reputation, whether true or not, I'm thinking Ryan, who is not very social himself, would probably barely know him except by sight of course. Although it might be possible as our story goes on that they might get to know each other thru one thing in common - your guy is ostracized and my guy is constantly picked on by many on the football team. Up to you of course!
